We have reached the 1.0 stage and it will be final on August 16, 2005. The current feature set is froze while we add some polish and stomp out any remaining bugs.
Features recently added for 1.0
- Admin/Moderators can split topics, moving replies to a new topic.
- Admins can define the color of a user's username.
- Topic subscriptions added.
- Staff email designation added. (you can choose who gets emailed for what on a per user basis)
- RSS publishing of the portal's recent topics and news!
- Ability to have RSS feeds offered as "live bookmarks" in newer browsers.
- Podcast capable! (it's related to RSS after all)
- Revamped favorite forums list. All your favorite forums displayed without being hidden in subforums!
- Moderated forum list. Now moderators can view only those forums they moderate!
- Multiple "Hot Topics" can be displayed in the particle box.
- Private Profiles. Only those with permission or on your buddy list can view your profile! This also keeps your profile from being listed on the members list.
- Permissions overview. See at a glance what group has access to what.
- User permissions overview. See exactly what permission a user has available to them.
- User's IP information for all of their posts is now viewable while editing them.
- Switch between Flat and Threaded mode while viewing a topic. The new "Full Threaded" mode displays replies in their entirety while retaining the threaded order.
- Admin definable templates. Now admins can allow users to select not only skins but templates for their displays. (displays for mobile devices soon to come)
